Dr Robin Kent

Dr Kent is the founder and Managing Director of Tangram Technology.

Dr Robin Kent has a B.Eng.(Hons) in Materials Engineering from Monash University in Australia and a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics (Polymer Physics) from the University of Surrey in England.

Since 1972 Dr Kent has been involved with plastics processing in a variety of sectors ranging from extrusion to injection moulding. He has also been heavily involved in PVC-U extrusion and windows since 1981. He has many years experience in product design having worked as Technical Director for several of the major plastics processing companies in UK and Europe.

Dr Kent has published over 220 technical papers and articles on plastics and windows, he is a regular lecturer at conferences on materials processing and PVC-U windows, he is a regular judge for industry awards and has also chaired 5 committees setting the standards for the UK window industry.

Dr Kent was Vice Chairman of the British Plastics Federation Windows Group (BPFWG) General Management Committee for 2 years and also Chairman of the BPFWG Technical Committee for 2 years. He currently sits on the Research Committee of the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) and is Chairman of the Plastics Consultancy Network International (PCNI).

Dr Kent is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Horners and Freeman of the City of London.

Tangram Technology was formed in March 1996 to meet the needs of the UK Plastics Processing and Glass and Glazing Industries for a technical consultancy dealing only with the technical needs of plastics processors, window systems suppliers, window fabricators, specifiers and consumers.
